Running Program for Youth Facing Barriers
In 2024, Life Strides identified the importance of sports programs being available to ALL youth facing barriers - not just youth in facilities.
YOUTH
FACING BARRIERS
YOUTH with limited natural resources.
YOUTH dealing with addiction and recovery.
YOUTH dealing with homelessness or displacement.
YOUTH recently released from a juvenile facility or other structured program.
All youth, regardless of their circumstances, have access to running as a means to discover their potential, build resilience, and unlock personal growth. Through running, they will develop the confidence, leadership, and life skills necessary to empower them in all areas of their lives. Our community will be a place where every young person feels supported, included, and inspired to achieve their best self on and off the trails.
OUR VISION FOR
COMMUNITY STRIDES
HOW IT WORKS
Our Community Strides program is a running group dedicated to providing consistent coaching and support to young individuals who have a passion for running but may face barriers to accessing the sport.
We create a welcoming and inclusive environment where youth can explore their potential, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for running.
Through regular training sessions, mentorship, and a focus on personal growth, we empower participants to overcome challenges, foster resilience, and achieve their goals both on and off the trails.
Our local chapter of Community Strides in Colorado Springs, CO meets on Tuesdays at 4pm.
