Running Program in Juvenile Facilities
Our goal is to establish a seamless implementation of sports programs across all juvenile facilities, supported by strong collaboration among the state, schools, facilities, and relevant stakeholders to ensure the empowerment and success of every youth in our care.
We envision juvenile facilities as environments where youth are empowered to rehabilitate, discover their potential, and develop the resilience and skills necessary to reintegrate into society as healthy, contributing individuals. Through access to sports programs, young people will build communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, enabling them to make choices that align with their best selves.
OUR VISION FOR
YOUTH STRIDES
HOW IT WORKS
We partner with facilities to assist in program funding, implementation,
and awareness events to inspire youth on reform through sport.
We currently have one consistent running program that is being funded year round.
Funding is used for necessary materials/equipment to execute a successful program to include, but is not limited to shoes, shirts, and incentives for youth.
We organize guest speakers at facilities, fund their honorarium and travel, and assist with the schedule of events.
We aim to engage youth in an after-school sports program that builds essential life skills beyond the classroom—sportsmanship, conflict resolution, focus, honesty, integrity, and accountability. Through physical activity, participants also improve emotional regulation and physical health, even with limited resources.
Our participants build a new foundation for success through their involvement—some will continue this activity after release, offering a positive path forward.
HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUTH STRIDES: At this time, the best way to support us is by donating funds to help us run the programs.
